More Health Insurance Options in 2020

In most cases, limited-duration health insurance policies were available for three-month periods. However, as of this current date, 11/15/2019, these plans can be extended to 6 months in Nevada. The plans cannot be renewed. They do not provide pre-existing coverage, most wellness, and Rx is limited. The short term plans, however, provide great coverage for things that happen suddenly and unexpectedly. This option does provide Nevadans with some real insurance protection that is less expensive than an ACA plan. We caution, however, they are not a long term substitute for an ACA plan.
10/1/2019 Changed Everything For Nevadans
Prior to 10/1/2019, insurance companies were required to offer insurance to anyone covering pre-existing conditions with a 90 day wait, but that option is no longer available. This is why “Open Enrollment” from 11/1 to 12/15 of each year is more important than ever.
